The gym was supposed to be a temple of self-improvement for Xander and Austin, but it had quickly become their personal arena of hilarious miscalculation. Xander Corvus, with a look of intense, misplaced concentration, would approach the bench press as if it were a philosophical puzzle to be solved by sheer willpower alone. Austin Taylor, ever the enthusiastic but misguided spotter, would offer encouragement that was completely divorced from proper lifting technique. The air was frequently punctuated by Xander’s grunts of effort, which were almost always followed by the metallic clang of weights being dropped in exhaustion. Austin would then attempt to demonstrate the correct form, only to overcompensate and nearly launch a dumbbell toward the ceiling. Their attempts at using the cable machine resulted in a tangled web of limbs and steel that defied all known laws of physics. Even a simple set of bicep curls became a full-body, wobbling spectacle of imbalance and strained facial expressions. They somehow managed to turn the leg press into a comedy of errors, with one of them inevitably sliding off the seat under the minimal weight. Each session was a new chapter in their unwitting anthology of fitness blunders, a testament to their shared, endearing lack of coordination. Ultimately, their greatest workout was the constant, aching laughter that left their abdominal muscles more sore than any crunches ever could.
