The air in the dimly lit bar was thick with smoke and the low thrum of forgotten promises, a place where I came to bury my regrets, not to find new ones. Then she walked in, a silhouette carved from shadow and defiance, and the entire room seemed to tilt on its axis. Her name was Capri Cavanni, a whisper on the lips of men foolish enough to think they could possess a storm, and her eyes held a darkness that was both a warning and an invitation.
