Scott Nails, looking every bit the dedicated scholar, ran a hand through his hair in a convincing display of academic frustration. He glanced across the wide oak table at his study partner, Jaz Jizzes, who offered a sly, knowing smile in return. The heavy textbooks on European history were suddenly far less interesting than the charged atmosphere thickening between them. Leaning forward, Jaz whispered a proposition that had nothing to do with their impending midterms, her voice a low, tempting murmur. Jaz’s fingers, which had moments before been tracing lines in a text, now traced the line of Scott’s jaw with an intimate familiarity. The air grew warm and electric, charged with a palpable anticipation that made the dusty books seem to fade away entirely. Their study session was officially over, replaced by a much more compelling and spicy curriculum of their own devising.
