The polished marble floors and stern portraits of the academy’s founders seemed to mock the scene unfolding in the headmistress’s office. Lily Love, a vision of calculated disobedience, had not come for a lecture on etiquette but for a far more primal curriculum. Her partner in crime, the roguishly charming Tommy Gunn, leaned against the heavy oak desk with an air of effortless insolence.
