As they entered the therapy room, Jane and Michael were greeted by their therapist with a warm smile. They sat down on opposite sides of the couch, feeling awkward but determined to work through their issues. As they talked about their struggles in the marriage, Jane couldn’t help but notice how attractive Michael looked, even in his distress. She found herself fantasizing about having him all to herself, and wondered if he was thinking the same thing. When it was time for the break, Jane excused herself to go to the restroom. When she caught up with him in the hallway, he confessed that he had been fantasizing about her too, and wondered if they could try something new together. Jane was surprised but intrigued. As they returned to the therapy room, they agreed to explore each other’s desires in a safe and consensual way. Their therapist watched them with interest as they began to touch and kiss, finally culminating in a passionate embrace on the couch. As they continued to explore each other’s bodies, Jane couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief wash over her. She had always been attracted to Michael, but never had the courage to act on it. Now, here they were, exploring their desires together in front of their therapist. It was both thrilling and terrifying, but she knew that this was something she wanted to continue. When the session ended, Jane and Michael left the therapy room feeling more connected than ever before.
