The frantic rhythm of her heart hammered agat her ribs, a desperate drumbeat echoing in the silent, oppressive darkness of the room. A delicate, intricate web of fabric, cool and smooth as a whispered secret, clung to her skin, each thread a tiny constraint that seemed to tighten with every panicked breath. The scent of her own fear, sharp and coppery, mingled with the faint, floral ghost of perfume from the garment, creating a strangely intimate perfume of dread. A single sliver of moonlight, pale and unforgiving, cut across the floor, illuminating the delicate patterns etched upon her trembling thighs. Every sense felt heightened, raw; she could feel the individual fibers of the rug beneath her bare feet, hear the almost imperceptible rustle of her own movements. The darkness itself felt like a physical presence, a heavy velvet cloak pressing down, its silence more terrifying than any sound. A bead of cold sweat traced a slow, deliberate path from her temple, down the curve of her neck, to pool in the hollow of her collarbone. The sheer material, once a symbol of delicate allure, now felt like a second skin she could not shed, a beautiful trap highlighting her vulnerability. In that suspended moment, the line between terror and a strange, unwanted arousal blurred, each terrified gasp feeling perilously close to a sigh.
