The humid air of summer clung to me as I wandered through the abandoned mansion, its darkened halls echoing with memories of a time long past. And then we came to a room at the end of the hallway, where a woman in white sat at an antique desk, writing by candlelight. She turned to face me as I entered, her eyes piercing and wise. You have been chosen, she said, in a voice that seemed to echo through the very walls of the mansion. You will be the one to break the curse that has plagued this place for generations. Without another word, she vanished before my eyes, leaving me alone once again in the darkened halls of the haunted summer estate.
