Almas Stepmother: A Scene-by-Scene Breakdown Almas stepped out of the car, her stomach churning with nerves. She had never been to her stepmother’s house before, and she wasn’t sure what to expect. As she walked towards the front door, she could hear the sound of laughter coming from ide. When she entered the living room, she saw her stepmother sitting on the couch with a glass of wine in hand. Her stepmother smiled warmly at Almas and gestured for her to sit down. Almas felt uncomfortable but sat down anyway. So, how have you been? her stepmother asked. Almas shrugged. I’ve been okay. That’s good, her stepmother said. I know it’s been tough for you since your father passed away. Almas couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Her stepmother had never shown any interest in her before, and now she was trying to be nice? As they talked, Almas began to relax a little. Her stepmother was actually quite nice and seemed to care about her well-being. She even offered to help Almas with her schoolwork and suggested that they could spend some time together doing something fun. Almas felt a wave of relief wash over her. Maybe things weren’t so bad after all. As she left her stepmother’s house, she promised herself that she would try to keep an open mind and give their relationship a chance.
