I stepped off the plane and into a world of excess. The States are known for their bigger, bolder, brighter everything – from the portions on our plates to the cars on our roads. My eyes were immediately drawn to the towering skyscrapers that seemed to touch the sky, dwarfing the buildings in my hometown. The neon lights blinked and flashed, beckoning me to explore this land of excess. And so I did. I wandered through the bustling streets, savoring every moment of the larger-than-life experience that awaited me.
