Her eyes, dark and heavy-lidded, locked with his, reflecting the low light and a deeper, smoldering hunger. The taste was a complex fire, a trail of spice and smoke that slid down her throat to pool low in her belly. His other hand found the small of her back, pulling her closer until she could feel the solid strength of his body, the promise of his heartbeat agat her own. The world narrowed to this single point of contact, the shared breath, the intoxicating blend of fine spirit and raw anticipation. Every sense was heightened, every nerve ending alive to the electric potential of what was to come in the charged silence of the room.
