The golden afternoon light dripped like honey, catching in the fine, damp hairs on his sun-warmed forearm as he reached for the pitcher. A slow bead of condensation traced a languid path down the cool, slick glass, a journey mirrored by a single drop of sweat meandering from the hollow of her throat, disappearing into the shadowed valley between her breasts. The air itself was thick and heavy with the scent of heated skin, coconut oil, and the distant, intoxicating perfume of jasmine climbing a whitewashed wall. His fingers, when they brushed agat hers to steady the pour, were not cold from the ice but shared the same latent heat, a silent communication that made her breath catch. The lemonade was sharp and sweet on her tongue, a vibrant contrast to the lazy, pervasive warmth that seemed to emanate from the very flagstones beneath their feet. She watched the muscles of his back shift and coil as he stretched, a landscape of taut skin over sculpted form, gleaming under the istent caress of the sun. The only sound was the hypnotic drone of a bumblebee hovering near the blooming lavender, a bass note to the quiet rhythm of their breathing.
