The worn leather seat creaked softly, a low complaint beneath the shifting weight of his body as the engine’s deep-throated purr vibrated up through the floorboards, a constant, thrilling hum that resonated in his very bones. His knuckles, pale and taut, gripped the polished steering wheel, each subtle turn of his wrist a precise negotiation with the rushing asphalt unspooling like a black ribbon before him.
